A week beyond borders and beyond knowledge, in Bulgaria

Published on

Specialists from QSHINJNV travelled to Bulgaria together with representatives from Elbasan Municipality and from the education and health sectors, all of whom work in the field of disability. The visit formed part of the project “Developing Early Childhood Intervention in Albania”, and its purpose was to exchange experience and to deepen our knowledge and capacity in early intervention for children with disabilities.

The trip was not only a change of place but a serious professional journey. We met committed colleagues, visited model centres, learned new approaches, and shared the challenges we hold in common across language and culture.

We brought three things home with us:

  • Inspiration to improve the services we offer.
  • A reminder that early intervention is a decisive step in supporting children with disabilities and their families.
  • Above all, the sense that when professionals come together, we move closer to a fairer world for our children.

This was one step, but an important one, toward better quality of life for those who need us most.

Our thanks to the Karin Dom Foundation in Varna for their hospitality and for everything they shared with us.

This activity was carried out under the project “Developing Early Childhood Intervention in Albania”, supported financially by the Republic of Bulgaria through the Bulgarian Embassy, within the Official Development Assistance programme.
